For the first time, four universities—The University of Alabama, Clemson University, Texas Christian University, and University of Southern Mississippi—have come together to introduce a new, experiential two-week executive education program designed specifically for mid- to senior-level economic developers. The Advanced Economic Development Leadership (AEDL) program is unique in that the curriculum is based on contemporary economic development issues taught with an experiential, hands-on approach.
We have developed core classes and curriculum that specifically address the demands of this complex industry. We are utilizing experienced teachers and industry practioners to present leading-edge strategies and techniques necessary in the competitive world of job creation. Areas of focus include: leadership, innovation, project management, workforce/education excellence, business development, global challenges, modern technology, data, and more.
This is critical to what sets AEDL apart. The foundation of our advanced program is based on contemporary economic development issues that are taught through an experiential, hands-on approach. With limited lectures, the Advanced program will immerse participants in a collaborative, team-centric approach that fosters learning through active demonstration and involvement. Our participants will learn as much from interaction with fellow students as they do from the faculty.
